As everybody knows, a film festival or a music awards event is not entirely about the arts, but also about fashion. In the last years, a night at the Oscars can be even more interesting and enlightening in terms of trends and outfits than an entire Fashion Week event and with the recent MTV Video Music Awards occasion, celebrities – both male and female – again stepped into the highlight, not only for their performances, but also for their taste in clothes, ones more … dubious than others. And if magazines, journals, online communities and bloggers everywhere couldn’t be convince to shut up about Lady Gaga’s one – show fashion display or Miley Cyrus’s wardrobe, now we have the Toronto Film Festival to focus on. There are a lot of excellent movies in the competition, famous superstars walking around, awards to be won, and reputations to be risen and so on. But, as usual, the fashion police never sleep and love to travel, so let’s take a quick look over five female celeb outfits that impressed the audience.
1. Sandra Bullock
Known for interesting choices in clothing at such special events (and also for some past terrible mistakes we hope she put behind her), Sandra aims to charm Toronto in an almost atypical dress, a multicolored over-layered midi outfit signed by Narciso Rodriguez and accessorized with Christian Louboutin shoes and Martin Katz jewelry. Except for the jewelry designer, whom Sandra apparently has a very soft spot for, her presence in Toronto is beautiful, but it lacks that spectacular spark she ignited recently at the Venice Film Festival, where she was fashion photographers’ favorite appearance, with her fabulous red dress.
2. Nicole Kidman
We are used to her wearing long dresses and exceptional accessories and the Toronto Film Festival wasn’t an exception for Nicole. Except that she switched the long dress with a masculine – inspired suit, not as formal as Victoria Beckham’s style, but with a feminine and delicate touch. Altuzarra knows how to design a suit, and Nicole knows how to wear a pair of Luis Vuitton shoes in style, so the movie premiere for The Railway Man benefited deeply from her presence
3. Keira Knightley
She is one of the best – dressed female celebs and she rose to the expectation in Toronto as well. A young, beautiful and jolly presence couldn’t make an appearance other than beautiful and jolly. At her newest movie premiere, Can A Song Save Your Life?, she dressed up in a daring creation signed by Mary Katrantzou, a fashion designer famous for her interesting, funny, light and jovial multicolored imprints. A matching pair of shoes and the outfit is complete for Keira, although some people commented that she would have looked even more spectacular if she brought along some of her fashionable accessories, such as a blu e-cig, as you may not know this, but sometimes Keira enjoys a throat hit once in a while, successfully entering the large gallery of female celebs who can be caught wearing in the purse some vaping device.
The Toronto red carpet experienced also the pleasure to host other female celebrities who distinguish themselves by always looking impeccable, no matter the event and who take everybody’s breath away with their choices: Olivia Wilde never makes mistakes and Toronto proved this once again, as her combination of a Roland Mouret black dress, Casadei shoes and Jimmy Choo metallic clutch made a sensation. Mădălina Ghenea, the Romanian model who conquered Gerard Butler’s heart is also a brilliant presence, as her outfits are always incredibly well chosen. If Venice applauded her for her Alberta Ferretti white dress and Chanel accessories, Toronto sighed in awe seeing her in a long red gown which fitted her perfectly.
