Star Wedding

The happy couple

On Sunday, July 21, Rick Harrison, the head honcho of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and star of the reality television series Pawn Stars, tied the knot with paralegal Deanna Burditt. According to the Las Vegas Sun, the two met at Vintner Grill in Summerlin. Then, in February 2012, Harrison popped the question to Burditt with a 2½ carat diamond ring.

“Third time is the charm,” said Harrison about the engagement, as this is the third marriage for both Burditt and himself. Harrison, 47, and Burditt, 37, both have three children from their two previous marriages. Harrison has three sons while Burditt has three daughters.

The unique ceremony

Harrison and Burditt were married in Laguna Niguel, California, during a sunset ceremony at the luxurious Ritz Carleton. Harrison wore a traditional and classy tuxedo and bow tie, while his lovely bride donned an $11,000 beautiful, white Inbal Dror gown that had been shipped from London’s Morgan-Davies Bridal.

According to People, Harrison spared no expense on the lavish celebrations. From the location, to his bride’s dress, to the entertainment, he was willing to go all out. Burditt originally wanted to keep the wedding small, but Harrison said that he chose to throw a massive party so that he could show that world how much he loved her. Burditt conceded and let Harrison plan the festivities, which Harrison joked were in reality planned mostly by his assistant.

The post-ceremony entertainment was provided by the glam, heavy metal band Steel Panther, who are best known for their exaggerated stage performances and profane but humorous lyrics. Party favors reportedly consisted of replica bobbleheads of the bride and groom in their wedding attire.

Surrounded by family and friends

The ceremony was a fun event of 180 of Harrison’s and Burditt’s closest family and friends. Harrison’s three sons, Corey, Adam, and Jake, all served as co-best men for their dad. Adam Harrison also used to work in the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, but has since become a plumber. Burditt’s three daughters, though unidentified, were also in attendance.

Other reality TV stars made an appearance as well. Harrison’s Pawn Star co-star, Austin Russell, served as ring bearer, while Danny Koker, the star of Counting Cars, officiated the wedding. In contrast to the bride and groom’s classy attire, Koker reportedly wore a sleeveless suit.

Is third time really going to be the charm, as Harrison said? He certainly seems to be very much in love with his new bride. As this is the third marriage for both of them, perhaps they have the experience and maturity to go forward strongly. Only time will tell. But for now, they certainly seem happy.
